If you haven't already unlocked the ability to create Grenades and Elemental Throwing Weapons it could really help out when you are in a tough situation - especially during the nighttime. It's worth checking out the Airstrike Flare Blueprint that can be found in the middle of the ocean and it is possibly considered an Easter Egg. I'm still hunting for the King Weapon Upgrades too as I am all out of the top-tier quality tools. Unfortunately I found out the hard way when I found a Bastard Sword in (Orange) quality which is Legendary and I was very excited to make it into a Volatile Hunter only to find out that it cannot be created. I've noticed that some Weapons are not always compatible with certain Blueprints so it might be worth to check what you can create before you purchase any Weapons from a NPC Vendor. It adds an additional 100+ Base Damage and causes Flame/Shock Damage. Personally I love the Volatile Hunter Blueprint however it's from an additional DLC that I purchased. Two-Handed Weapons such as Maces and Axes work well with the Whirlwind Ability and can clear out a Horde of zombies that might have gathered underneath you. Boosting Damage and Speed will only improve the performance with that particular weapon. Skilled players that can utilize various of the Power Abilities while mixing in Dodges and Grapples might use Short Swords, Machetes or Katanas for decent mid-range and speed rating.
